Rugosa Closes Doors

Wainscott restaurant had been open for two and a half years.

Owners Bill and Yvette Mammes closed the doors on Saturday, according to a on East Hampton Patch.

Rugosa had been opened year-round and served Modern American Fine Dining for about two and a half years. It is located in front of the on Montauk Highway.

In a note to patrons posted online, the Mammes thanked their customers for their support. "We enjoyed serving each one of you. Sadly, it is time for Rugosa to close and for us to move on," they said.

Bill, a native of Long Island, worked at the Maidstone Club for two years until 2008, and then helped open Indian Wells Tavern for Chris Eggert and Kevin Boles, according to Rugosa's website.
