Report: Helmut Lang Shreds His Clothes in the Name of Art

Archival collection turned into sculptures for exhibit at The Fireplace Project.

Some might be surprised when a fashion designer tears his tops designs in the name of art.

But that's exactly what Helmut Lang did to make sculptures, according to The Huffington Post.

Lang, who retired from the fashion industry in 2005, shreded 6,000 pieces of clothing in his archival collection to make 12 stalacite shaped sculptures for a solo exhibition at in Springs.
