Police Logs: Driver Gave Fake Name, Now Facing Deportation

The following information was supplied by the East Hampton police. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

The following reports were released from the East Hampton Town and Village police departments for the week of March 19.

• Cesar P. Calle, 41, of East Hampton, is being held on $10,000 bail out of , as well as a detainer from the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, following a traffic stop on March 16. arrested him on a charge of false personation, two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating a car with a suspended registration, all misdemeanors, as well as three traffic violations. He was pulled over in a 2002 Ford on Woods Lane, after police received a hit on their license plate reader that the Ford's registration was suspended. Calle, who gave a first name of Benito E, was not able to produce identification and a check with the DMV confirmed his driving privileges were suspended. Once his criminal history returned, police discovered his real name was Cesar. He also had a bench warrant out on a Suffolk County Police Department case, as well as the detainer. The vehicle was impounded.

• James P. Fenelon II, 29, of East Hampton, as arrested on drunken driving charges in Spring on St. Patrick's Day. said he crossed the double-yellow line in a 2001 Ford and failed to signal when he turned onto Isle of Wight Road at about 2:50 a.m. Charged with misdemeanor DWI, he was held until morning arraignment. East Hampton Town Justice Catherine A. Cahill released him on $250 bail.

Criminal Mischief

• Kyle M. Martin, 25, of East Hampton, was arrested on a felony criminal mischief charge on Feb. 29 for allegedly punching and causing damage to a door and the windshield on a 1992 GMC three days earlier. Police asked Martin to come in for an interview, during which he was arrested on a charge of third-degree criminal mischief. He was released on an appearance ticket.

Contempt of Court

• Bobby R. Gayle, 41, of Amagansett, was picked up on an arrest warrant for two counts of second-degree criminal contempt. It was not clear from what the charges stemmed. Gayle had an active parole warrant, as well, according to his arrest report. He is being held on $6,000 cash or $12,000 bond at the Suffolk County jail in Yapank.
