Police Logs: Assault Arrest Made After 'Slice'

Also: Two drivers accused of driving while high on marijuana this week.

The following information was supplied by the East Hampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

• A Bridgehampton man is being held at the Suffolk County jail in Riverside on assault and menacing charges following his arrest on Saturday morning.

Gregorio Colin-Martinez, who is 21, allegedly cut a man's hand with a knife at a residence on Muir Boulevard in East Hampton on Saturday at about 5:50 a.m.

According to police, they were called to the house for a disturbance after Colin-Martinez held a masonry knife against the victim's throat while making demands. The victim attempted to flee, but the defendant grabbed him and "sliced" his right hand, police said. Colin-Martinez then ran from the house towards Springs Fireplace Road.

About five minutes later, police were patrolling the area, near Queens Lane, when the defendant flagged them down, saying that he couldn't find his Ford Mustang. He directed the officer back to the Muir Boulevard address — his vehicle was parked in the driveway.

The victim told police what had transpired between them and Colin-Martinez was taken into custody at 6:02 a.m. He was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and second-degree menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth-degree, both misdemeanors.

East Hampton Town Justice Lisa R. Rana arraigned him later that morning, setting bail at $2,000 cash or $5,000 bond. He was turned over to the Suffolk County Sheriff's office and is due back in court on Wednesday.

The victim reportedly denied medical treatment for his hand.

• Antonio A. Cabrera, 27, of East Hampton, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation on Dec. 12 in Springs. At about 8:15 p.m., police observed a 2003 Chevrolet swerving on Old Stone Highway, as it headed north. Police pulled the vehicle over on Springs Fireplace Road, at Fort Pond Boulevard. They said there was a strong smell of marijuana on his breath and clothing. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests, police said. While searching Cabrera, a multi-colored smoking device containing a burnt green leaf-like substance fell from his pants leg, police said. Cabrera refused to submit to a blood test, but the substance tested positive for marijuana. Held overnight, Cabrera was released the next day on $500 bail.

• Lior Nahum, 43, of Brooklyn, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, on Dec. 6 in East Hampton. Police pulled Nahum's 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee over on Springs Fireplace Road, near East Hampton Drive West, because it had one headlight out. According to a report, there was a strong odor of marijuana on his breath and clothing. Police said, "he appeared sluggish and had trouble focusing on simple questions." He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested at about 2:20 a.m. He consented to a blood test, police said. He was held until arraignment in the morning and released on $275 bail.

• Lawrence R. Amanuel, 41, of Central Valley, NY, was arrested on a DWI charge in Montauk on Dec. 9. The arresting officer's report said Amanuel's vehicle failed to signal right or stop at a stop sign at the intersection of West Lak Drive and Montauk Highway at about 8:45 p.m. Upon the traffic stop, the driver appeared intoxicated. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and was arrested just after 9 p.m. He was held overnight and released on $350 bail the next day.

• Segundo Manuel Buestan Albarracin, 50, of Southampton, was arrested on a DWI charge in East Hampton Village on Saturday at about 4 a.m. Police responded to a report of a black Nissan Pathfinder being driven erratically on Woods Lane. An officer stopped a vehicle that fit the description near Cove Hollow Road at about 3:30 a.m. Buestan Albarracin was behind the wheel and appeared intoxicated, police said, adding that he failed field sobriety tests. He was charged with misdemeanor DWI, driving on the shoulder, driving across hazardous markings, and failure to notify DMV of an address change, which are all violations. He was released on $350 after arraignment.

• Pedro Cubule Pirrir, 33, of Springs, was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, a violation, as well as unlicensed operator and two other traffic infractions, on Sunday. Police were on a routine patrol when they noticed a 1999 Toyota Corolla heading east on Main Street, near David's Lane. The driver failed to main his lane of travel and crossed over the solid yellow line several times, police said. He was pulled over at about 3:30 a.m., and appeared intoxicated. After being charged, he was released on $200 station house bail, and was due in court on Wednesday.
