Folk-rock band has performed with Robbie Robertson and Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes.

The up-and-coming folk rock band Dawes will be on deck in the Hamptons this summer.

The group has been confirmed as one of the acts in the much anticipated two-day Music To Know Festival in August.

"We're very excited about them," said organizer Bill Collage, who confirmed the band's performance. The organizers have been mum otherwise as to who is taking the stage on August 13 and 14.

In addition to performances, the festival will include food, wine and beer vendors.

Dawes will be playing tunes from their upcoming album Nothing Is Wrong, which is set for release on June 7, according to its website. The group, made up of brothers vocalist Taylor Goldsmith and Griffin Goldsmith on drums, Wylie Gelber on bass, and Tay Strathairn on keyboards, are also going out on tour with pop-folk artist Brett Dennen in May and June. Dennen recently performed at the nearby Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center.

Recently, Dawes performed on Late Night with David Letterman with famed singer-songwriter and master guitarist Robbie Robertson.

In a 2009 article, The Rolling Stone Magazine said, the foursome's debut, North Hills, was full of "twangy folk rock a la Gram Parsons and Neil Young."

"The band is also part of a renaissance in L.A.'s legendary Laurel Canyon scene, having participated in neighborhood jam sessions with local VIPs like Jenny Lewis and the Black Crowes' Chris Robinson.

Though the are true West Coasters, the group should fit right in the Hamptons summer scene. Strathairn's father is David Strathairn, who was nominated for an Academy Award for actor playing Edward R. Murrow in Good Night, and Good Luck in 2006.

The two brothers in the band are sons of Lenny Goldsmith, a former lead singer in the 1960s for well-known funk band Tower of Power.
