May 13: Go Around the World at Springs School and Check Out Members Exhibit
For the start of the weekend, there's plenty to do.
The weekend is finally here and there's plenty to do. Hopefully this gorgeous weather will hold up.
1. Having opened last weekend, the 73rd annual Guild Hall Artist Members Exhibition is on view on Friday through June 11. Guild Hall is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (and throughout the weekend).
2. Patti Leber is running for third term on the Montauk School Board and we'll bring you her candidate profile on Friday, just in time for the election on Tuesday. She is running unopposed.
3. The Montauk Music Festival started on Thursday night and will be getting into full swing on Friday. There are performances at Navy Beach and many other places, so be sure to check the festival calendar for more shows -- there are plenty.
4.The Springs School will host a multicultural festival on Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. There will be foods, entertainment and activities from around the world for students and community members to enjoy. It's free to attend -- just bring a non-perishable food donation for the Springs Food Pantry.
5. If you are looking for a movie to watch, The Picture Show at Bay Street Theatre has a classic for you. The Graduate starring Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft starts at 8. The movie can be coupled with the "dinner and a movie" prix-fixe at the American Hotel. Incidentally, Bancroft's sister is Phyllis Mallah, who is running for Springs School Board.
