Fire Department Called Out for Chimney Smoke
With smoke in the residence reported, all seemed to be under control once chiefs arrived.
Update: All units back in service at 3:45 p.m.
The East Hampton Fire Department responded to a call at 33 Huckleberry Lane in East Hampton on Friday afternoon.
Dispatchers received two calls from the occupant of the house about a problem with the fireplace and that there was smoke in the residence.
After fire chiefs arrived around 3:35 p.m., firefighters were told to proceed with caution to the scene. Only the first engine was told to respond.
It appeared the problem was under control, according to the fire chief.
Huckleberry Lane is between Mark Twain Road and Potters Road, off of Stephen Hands Path and Buckskill Road.
