Batter's Up: East Hampton Little League Registration Underway

Free clinics being offered ahead of the 2012 season.

Spring is a lot closer than it feels.

East Hampton Little League registration is now open for boys and girls through the end of the month, on the league's website.

In advance of the 2012 mid-April season start, the league will be hosting free instructional clinics at Sportime's indoor arena in Amagansett at the end of the month. Parents can also register their children for the season there, according to Michael Sarlo, the secretary of the Little League executive board.

Clinics are set for Jan. 22 and 29 at 2 p.m. for first and second grade students, at 3 p.m. for third and fourth grade students, and at 4 p.m. for fifth and sixth grade students.

Registration for the season is $80, $50 for each sibling. A late fee of $10 will be attached after Jan. 31, and children will be wait-listed for rosters if they are late.

Forms are available onlne. A copy of birth certificate and utility bill as proof of residency are required.

Sarlo said volunteers are still needed, as well as coaches and umpires.

The Little League Clinics are still on for Sunday, Jan. 22 and they're requesting kids bring a change of shoes so we don't drag snow and slush onto the floors of the arena. Have fun!
