April 29: "Cinderella" Pirouetted, Navy Beach's Nod to Royal Wedding

Friday is packed full of school election coverage and must-attend events.

What a busy week it has been, and it feels like we're only getting started.

1. In East Hampton Patch's continuing school election coverage on Friday, we'll feature a profile and video of East Hampton School Board of Education candidate Patrica Hope. Many know Hope as a longtime high school science teacher, but now she's ready to serve the community in a different role. The first of the Springs School Board candidates -- a profile on Arthur Goldman -- was posted on Thursday, in case you missed it.

2. The Hampton Ballet Theatre School will debut Cinderella on Friday evening with a performance at 7 p.m. Sara Jo Strickland directs the students who will don costumes designed and hand sewn by Yuka Silvera, on the stage at Guild Hall, lit by designer Sebastian Paczynski. You can also catch performances on Saturday evening at 7 and Sunday afternoon at 2.

3. Summer's almost here, even though it doesn't quite feel like it. Navy Beach re-opens for the season on Friday afternoon, and the beachfront restaurant is kicking off the season with a nod to the royal wedding. Starting at 3 p.m., and continuing through Sunday, Pimm's Cup, a British summer drink of Sparkling Cava and Sangria Rosa made with St. Germain & Rose Wine is on the menu for $9.

4. Tony Award nominee, Broadway star, and vocalist Melissa Errico will perform in a fundraiser for Ross School at Race Lane. The performance kicks off a weekend tennis clinic with Patrick McEnroe, who is Errico's husband. There will be a seated dinner, but there is also dessert and entertainment seating available, as well.

5. A silent art auction to benefit Japan's earthquake victims will be held at Phao on Friday evening. A reception will local artists will be held from 4 to 5 p.m., followed by the silent auction from 5 to 7 p.m.
