Bald and Beautiful Barbie is a movement that is working towards creating a "Barbie" or "Barbie type doll" that is bald. Bald to support all those suffering from Alopecia,Cancer, and Trichotillomania. The goal of this "Barbie" is that all children know that bald is beautiful and deal with their own hair loss or a loved one's . The proceeds from this doll would go to a pediatric Cancer research facility. This movement is becoming quite large on facebook and we are only a small percentage of the people who are behind this cause. With numbers and publicity, we think this goal can happen. Please help us by letting your readers/viewers know about this.
If you would like more information on this movement you can goto this site http://www.facebook.com/BeautifulandBaldBarbie or email baldbarbie@gmail.com.

I spoke with Mattel regarding this idea and was told that they don't accept ideas from the general public (those the purchase the barbies) only from their own designers. Not impressed Mattel.

Thank you Kelli! We are in contact with a designer. One of the admins has been speaking with them. I have a good feeling about this. Either way the awareness is so critical!
Sincerely,
Wendy Tarlow, admin for Beautiful and Bald Barbie

There are no "Barbie" brand dolls but TONS of "Chemo" dolls. Dolls w/ leg braces, walkers, bald w/ bandana's, wheel chairs , IV's, scrubs and prosthetic limbs too.
Down syndrome and cerebral palsy have been covered by Doll makers too.
